Class Organization

Primary Level (Classes I-V)
  • Class Size: Ideally, each class should not exceed 35-40 students.
  • Sections: If the number of students exceeds the recommended class size, multiple sections (A, B, C, etc.) can be created.
  • Classrooms: Equipped with age-appropriate furniture, teaching aids, and basic facilities like clean drinking water and sanitation.
    Middle Level (Classes VI-VIII)
  • Class Size: Each class should ideally have 35-40 students.
  • Sections: Multiple sections are created if student numbers exceed the recommended size.
  • Classrooms: Classrooms should be equipped with facilities to support interactive learning, including projectors, smart boards, and internet access.
    Secondary Level (Classes IX-X)
  • Class Size: The ideal class size is 35-40 students.
  • Sections: Additional sections are created if necessary.

  • Student-Teacher Ratio

The CBSE recommends a specific student-teacher ratio to ensure effective teaching and individualized attention. The recommended ratio is:
  • Primary Level (Classes I-V): The ideal student-teacher ratio is 30:1. This means one teacher for every 30 students.
  • Middle Level (Classes VI-VIII): The recommended student-teacher ratio is 35:1.
  • Secondary Level (Classes IX-X): The recommended student-teacher ratio is 35:1
  • Specific Subject Teacher Allocation

  • Specialized Teachers: For subjects like Physical Education, Art, Music, and Computer Science, specialized teachers are appointed.
    Middle and Secondary Level
  • Subject Teachers: Specialized teachers are appointed for each subject such as Mathematics, Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology), Social Science (History, Geography, Civics), Languages (English, Hindi, and third language), and Computer Science.
  • Co-Curricular Teachers: Teachers for Physical Education, Art, Music, and other co-curricular activities are also part of the faculty.

  • Continuous Professional Development: Teachers are encouraged to participate in regular training programs and workshops to stay updated with the latest educational practices and technologies.
  • Infrastructure: Schools must ensure proper infrastructure to support the teaching-learning process, including well-equipped classrooms, science laboratories, computer labs, libraries, sports facilities, and audiovisual rooms.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Continuous and comprehensive evaluation (CCE) is emphasized to assess students' progress through a variety of methods, including quizzes, assignments, projects, and exams.
  • Student Support Services: Counseling services, remedial classes, and special education services are provided to support students' academic and emotional needs.
